I’m super excited to have Mieke join me here at the studio and I know any of you that have the opportunity to meet her will love her as much as I do!

A Little About Mieke…
She is from South Africa, which explains her awesome accent. She has lived in 3 different continents over the last year. She met her husband while living and working aboard a humanitarian missions ship for 2 years. He is actually from the Jackson area and they came back here for him to attend law school. Since being here Mieke has also started studying graphic design. She loves scuba diving, has a great creative eye, is great with kids and might just be the most flexible person I know.

I’m feeling a bit like my life is super boring after telling you all about her! :-) Welcome Mieke, I am so thankful to have you on board!

It was actually wonderful to finally meet Dani and Jeff in person because we had only communicated via phone, email and Skype since they live in TN. Dani put a lot of thought into all the details of their day. Even though it was an intimate event she made sure that their guests were comfortable with the ingredients for a good time. Planning a wedding long distance must be challenging but everything came together beautifully thanks to Lindsey and her team with dandyLion events.

Dani and Jeff, thank you for trusting me to photograph your beautiful wedding. I wish you both many blessings as you embark on married life together!

I did, however, get the privilege of photographing their engagement session and I must say both Nikki and Matt were fabulous in front of the camera. They are so clearly in love and and I think that definitely came through in their images.

I knew then that it was going to be a fabulous event and Carrie and Parker’s Galloway wedding and reception at The South this past Saturday did not disappoint.  Carrie was a stunning bride and though her dad affectionately described her as a true redhead she was quite laid back.  She and Parker were so happy to finally be getting married and for the celebration of it all.

Carrie and Parker, thank you both for having me be a part of your day! I wish you both the very best as you begin your married life together.

While I was getting a shot of all the men in Carrie’s life (Parker, her dad and brothers), Aaron got this. Love it!

 

Aaron took this shot as well while he rode the Fondren Trolley with the wedding party to the reception. There is something about the reflections and color that I love.

 

Megan with Fresh Cut did a fabulous job pulling off all the reception details.

Everyone danced the night away to the sounds of Meet the Press.

After hanging out with them and photographing their engagement session a few months ago I knew their wedding day would be a lot of fun– and that it was. It was fun, beautiful and full of joy as their family and friends came together to celebrate Haley and Chris as they joined their lives together.

Haley and Chris chose to see each other before the ceremony which allowed for this beautiful moment.

 

The light in the Fairview suite where Haley got ready was just beautiful and I couldn’t resist shooting a few portraits there. Is she stunning or what?!

 

The cross on Haley’s bouquet had been worn in several generations of her family’s weddings and this was a beautiful way to incorporate it into her own.

Miriam and I know each other from our time at Belhaven, but I didn’t get to meet Kevin until the day of the wedding. They are just precious together. From the time spent with them that day I can tell that Kevin takes good care of Miriam. He was so attentive to her. They both laugh together a lot– a great quality for a good relationship.

The day went incredibly smoothly with plenty of time to spare before the ceremony, thanks to a timely wedding party and Kevin and Miriam deciding to do a first look pre-ceremony. It was a day that was such a joy to be a part of!

Kevin and Miriam, thank you so much for having me document your day. I wish you many many years of happiness!

A big thanks to Aaron Phillips and Sully Clemmer for shooting with me. I also must mention that it was a pleasure to work with Nathan Alber who handled the videography for the day. Sometimes it can be tricky having both photographers and videographers documenting the whole wedding day because both are trying to get much of the same content. Nathan was really great to work alongside, so any brides looking for someone to capture your wedding day in motion should give him a call. :-)
