DANI & JEFF [ACORN WEDDING]

Dani and Jeff got married a couple of weeks ago at the Northpointe Red Barn and I had the privilege of photographing their big day. It was actually wonderful to finally meet Dani and Jeff in person because we had only communicated via phone, email and Skype since they live in TN. Dani put a lot of thought into all the details of their day. Even though it was an intimate event she made sure that their guests were comfortable with the ingredients for a good time. Planning a wedding long distance must be challenging but everything came together beautifully thanks to Lindsey and her team with dandyLion events.

Dani and Jeff, thank you for trusting me to photograph your beautiful wedding. I wish you both many blessings as you embark on married life together!

COLE & TYSON [ACORN FAMILIES]

I have been photographing Cole since he was a few months old and his little brother Tyson since he was born. This family happens to be some of my favorite people in the world. It was time for some updated family photos a couple of months ago so we met up for a quick session.

EVELYN [ACORN FAMILIES]

Little Evelyn’s mommy and I went to college together and haven’t seen each other since because she moved up to Boston after getting married. I was excited to get to meet up with Evelyn and her mommy and daddy for a portrait session while they were going to be in MS visiting family. Evelyn has such personality–and we had some great conversations. The session started off when I arrived to find out that she had tried to style her hair with butter at the dinner table only a few minutes before. Life with little ones is so unpredictable. :-) After a nice hair washing and restyle by mom we began our session outside where Evelyn found a rock to carry around. I asked her if her rock had a name– her response: ‘Chrysanthemum.’ Children’s imaginations and Evelyn’s vocabulary never cease to amaze me. We had a really fun session and I certainly hope this isn’t the last time this sweet family makes an appearance in front of my camera. :-)

KATIE & CODY [ACORN COUPLES]

Katie and Cody have known each other forever, like since they were kids, but didn’t begin dating until the last couple of years. They will be married next month in LA and I am excited to travel down to shoot their wedding. They made a trip to Clinton back in July for their engagement session. We had a great time hanging out in downtown Clinton. Katie and Cody, I’m looking forward to your wedding! Only a few more weeks! Yay!

RHYS [BABY ACORN]

This cutie bug has become one of my favorite little subjects. This is session 3 of 4 of Rhys’s Baby Acorn sessions and I have so enjoyed getting to see him grow. I mean really couldn’t you just eat him up! I keep telling his momma that they are going to have to watch out when he realizes how cute he is and especially when the girls realize how cute he is. ;-)

carrie & parker [acorn wedding]

I can’t believe it was over a year ago when I first met with Carrie, her mom and sister to talk about her wedding plans. I knew then that it was going to be a fabulous event and Carrie and Parker’s Galloway wedding and reception at The South this past Saturday did not disappoint. Carrie was a stunning bride and though her dad affectionately described her as a true redhead she was quite laid back. She and Parker were so happy to finally be getting married and for the celebration of it all.

Carrie and Parker, thank you both for having me be a part of your day! I wish you both the very best as you begin your married life together.

While I was getting a shot of all the men in Carrie’s life (Parker, her dad and brothers), Aaron got this. Love it!

Aaron took this shot as well while he rode the Fondren Trolley with the wedding party to the reception. There is something about the reflections and color that I love.

Megan with Fresh Cut did a fabulous job pulling off all the reception details.

Everyone danced the night away to the sounds of Meet the Press.

chris & haley [acorn wedding]

I have been looking forward to Haley and Chris’ Fairview Inn wedding and reception for awhile. After hanging out with them and photographing their engagement session a few months ago I knew their wedding day would be a lot of fun– and that it was. It was fun, beautiful and full of joy as their family and friends came together to celebrate Haley and Chris as they joined their lives together.

Haley and Chris chose to see each other before the ceremony which allowed for this beautiful moment.

The light in the Fairview suite where Haley got ready was just beautiful and I couldn’t resist shooting a few portraits there. Is she stunning or what?!

The cross on Haley’s bouquet had been worn in several generations of her family’s weddings and this was a beautiful way to incorporate it into her own.
