Allyson and Brandon’s Provine Chapel wedding in Clinton was really beautiful a few weeks ago. The ceremony was particularly sweet as Allyson’s grandfather was the minister that officiated and Brandon sang for his bride (his voice is amazing, by the way).  The day went off without a hitch– well one actually.  Allyson’s little brother Caleb met up with some concrete and the knee of his pants needed a quick repair, which was quickly handled by Paige Haven– Allyson’s wonderful coordinator. Other than the pants incident though, I have never photographed a wedding that was so organized with everyone on time and together.

Allyson and Brandon it was really a treat to be a part of your beautiful day and see such sweet support of all your family and friends!

Allyson’s dress had intricate cut out detailing on the train, so I took this shot specifically to show that off.

So, I know this shot is in B&W, but Allyson and Brandon both have really beautiful blue eyes. They’re bound to have kids with the bluest eyes ever!

For instance, I doubt Keith imagined the day that he would meet a girl that loved to spend time in the woods hunting as much as he did. That’s saying an awful lot because Keith hunts professionally. Seeing them together makes me smile. It’s the happiest I’ve ever seen Randi. You see, she and I have known each other since middle school and graduated high school together–all 10 of us in our graduating class.  Although we haven’t really seen each other much since then we have kind of kept up through Facebook and such over the years, occasionally running into each other around town. When I found out she was engaged I was so excited for her! Then she asked me to photograph their wedding and I am honored.

Last week we met up for their engagement session. Since they both love the outdoors it was only appropriate to shoot their session out in God’s beautiful creation– we headed out to Randi’s family land. The location was beautiful, the light beautiful and Randi and Keith are beautiful. A recipe for a fabulous session!

Randi and Keith, you two are precious and I can’t wait to photograph your wedding in June! Thanks for hanging out last week!

I love the way they laugh with each other. I think this might be my favorite from the session. :-)

Randi is about 6 feet tall and doesn’t think a thing about putting on a pair of 4 inch heels. I love it!

It is pretty likely that they will be moving in May or soon after and we will definitely miss them!

I had to make sure and get a few of just Kevin and Rebecca. The last photos they have together are from their wedding. They are such a fun couple.

They met at school in Louisiana through mutual friends, dated, got engaged and I am super excited to be photographing their Natchez wedding July! They are currently having to manage a long distance relationship because Meredith is finishing up school in Louisiana and Travis is stationed in Florida. Last weekend happened to be the only time that Travis would be back before too close to the wedding to shoot engagements– soooo, they were super flexible to share a bit of their time together with me so we could get an engagement session in. :-)

It is so fun to see the dynamics of a couple’s relationship, particularly in front of my camera. Meredith is laid back and sweet as can be. She has a great sense of style, but is totally no fuss. Travis has a great sense of humor mixed with just enough sarcasm to keep you on your toes. :-) Together they are adorable.

Meredith and Travis, I so enjoyed hanging out and getting to know you a bit. I’m really looking forward to July!!

I remember the day mom and dad brought him home from the hospital. This cute little chunk of a baby with pure white hair — a distinguishing feature that people have commented on his whole life. His hair has darkened a bit, he’s certainly no chunk, and has grown into such a great guy. The kind of guy that everyone wants to call their friend. He is super laid back, has a great sense of humor and loves cars. He is musical, compassionate, did I mention he loves cars? He is my brother and I think he is super cool. So, last week we headed out for a super quick senior shoot and here are a few of my favorites…

Hardly two weeks after that I found out some other friends that have been going through the adoption process found out about a sweet baby girl needing a family. The details of how my friends Aaron and Leslie were matched up with this precious baby girl are nothing short of God orchestrating a lot of details and connections that they could have never dreamed up.

Last week they went up to Memphis to meet the birth family and little Hannah and they stayed up there for a week working through details. Originally they had planned for me to go up to Memphis to photograph them there, but the logistics and details were so unknown that it didn’t work out. However, I am thrilled that I was able to meet them last night when they arrived home and document Hannah being welcomed home for the first time.

She was greeted by friends, her aunt and little cousin. There was much oohing and aahing, lots of smiles and Aaron and Leslie recounting the events of the past week. Thank you both for the privilege of being able to take part in such a precious time in your lives. I can’t wait to watch Hannah grow!

Lately I have been photographing families in their homes more often than out at a park or other location. While I am not opposed to photographing out at parks or other locations there is something that I love about a session in someone’s home. That is where their story takes place. It is where they are most themselves. It is a comfort zone for children. It is true lifestyle photography.

This year I am launching several lifestyle portrait collections that I am calling my ‘A Year in the Life’ collections. It is an opportunity for you to have your family’s life documented with several sessions over the course of the year and at the end of the year you will get an album of images telling the story of the past year in your family’s life. Now mom, or whoever is usually behind the camera, can be part of the story too. :-)

I first announced this to my newsletter subscribers to give them the first opportunity as I am looking to have 5 families take part in this right now. These first 5 families that take part in the ‘A Year in the Life’ experience will receive discounts on the collections as well as several other perks.
