EVELYN [ACORN FAMILIES]

Little Evelyn’s mommy and I went to college together and haven’t seen each other since because she moved up to Boston after getting married. I was excited to get to meet up with Evelyn and her mommy and daddy for a portrait session while they were going to be in MS visiting family. Evelyn has such personality–and we had some great conversations. The session started off when I arrived to find out that she had tried to style her hair with butter at the dinner table only a few minutes before. Life with little ones is so unpredictable. :-) After a nice hair washing and restyle by mom we began our session outside where Evelyn found a rock to carry around. I asked her if her rock had a name– her response: ‘Chrysanthemum.’ Children’s imaginations and Evelyn’s vocabulary never cease to amaze me. We had a really fun session and I certainly hope this isn’t the last time this sweet family makes an appearance in front of my camera. :-)

millie and simon [acorn family session]

I have had the privilege of photographing this family for several years now and it is just amazing to see how much Millie and Simon have grown during that time. Although, this is the last of a series of sessions we have done together I am looking forward to the next time I get to hang out with these guys and photograph them– sometime in December maybe, Rachel? :-) I have the best clients, really I do!

I had the privilege of meeting little Levi and his mommy and daddy a number of weeks ago for a portrait session in their home. It’s always fun to find connections with clients and through the course of our emails back and forth Ashley and I realized our husbands both work together. What a small world!

Little Levi is just the sunshine of his mommy and daddy’s lives. What a cutie! I so enjoyed photographing all of them and can’t wait until the next time Levi makes an appearance in front of my lens. :-)

Several months ago I received an email from my 3rd grade teacher asking about booking a family session with the studio. She had seen our work on Facebook– nothing like Facebook to reconnect you with people from your past. :-) They were passing through Jackson over the holidays and we worked in an Acorn session. It was really fun to see Mrs. VanZant (she said I had graduated and call her by her first name but I must admit that was a little strange) and her sweet family after a lot of years. :-)

These precious kiddos were a delight to photograph. They were in visiting family over Thanksgiving and their mom booked an Acorn session while they were here and I’m so glad she did!

I have had the privilege of photographing these two kiddos for a year or two now. This is actually the 3rd of 4 sessions documenting Simon’s first couple of years. They are both growing so fast! I met up with them at their house for the session and we roamed around outside and then headed in for a bit. Photographing young ones at home can work really well because they are familiar with the environment and there is no warming up to their surroundings.

Little Cole is no stranger to the blog, but this is his new little brother Tyson’s debut! I love shooting new newborns. Are these boys cuties or what?! :-)

I love this shot of Christina and Tyson. She was just talking to him as we were transitioning from one thing to the next and I turned around and saw this. :-)

I think this shot is hilarious. Big brother Cole has done very well accepting his new brother into the family but the look on his face here looks like mama better keep a close watch. :-)
