Katie and Cody have known each other forever, like since they were kids, but didn’t begin dating until the last couple of years. They will be married next month in LA and I am excited to travel down to shoot their wedding. They made a trip to Clinton back in July for their engagement session. We had a great time hanging out in downtown Clinton. Katie and Cody, I’m looking forward to your wedding! Only a few more weeks! Yay!

NIKKI & MATT [ACORN COUPLES]

I was so excited when I found out Nikki and Matt were engaged, but I was bummed when I found out their wedding was going to be on the same day as my sister’s and I wouldn’t be able to photograph it. I did, however, get the privilege of photographing their engagement session and I must say both Nikki and Matt were fabulous in front of the camera. They are so clearly in love and and I think that definitely came through in their images.

Nikki and Matt, thank you for the opportunity to document your love. I pray many blessings on your upcoming marriage!

Jessica & John Paul [acorn engagements]

Jessica and John Paul are getting married down on the Coast in June, and while it didn’t work out for me to photograph their wedding, I was so flattered that Jessica still wanted me to photograph their engagement session. So, a few weeks ago I met up with them in downtown Jackson for their session which included their fur babies– Jones and Joline. :-) The weather was beautiful, Jessica and John Paul were awesome in front of the camera and the dogs were very entertaining.

Haley & Chris [acorn engagements]

Chris and Haley are tying the knot next month and we met up a few weeks ago for their engagement session. It was a beautiful day with fabulous light and Chris and Haley quickly warmed up to the camera. I’m looking forward to their Fairview Inn wedding and reception!

ashley & john •• acorn engagement session part 2

You may remember Ashley and John’s engagements part one from several months ago. We began their session with an overcast sky and were rained out not far into the session with another location still to go. We opted to finish their session on a nice sunny day– though very cold.

John lives out on a bit of land and all during their courtship they spent time out there gardening

John, an avid hunter, also taught Ashley how to shoot. This is Ashley’s gun by the way. :-)

marie & corey •• acorn engagement session

Corey and Marie are just precious and I really enjoyed photographing their engagement session a bit ago. We shot their session out at Providence Hill Farm, which is where they will have their wedding reception. It was the first time I had been out there but I had heard that it was beautiful. What I didn’t realize is how big it is! It’s almost hard to believe there is something like it in Jackson.

Corey and Marie, I had a great time with you guys and am really looking forward to your wedding in March!

ashley & john •• engagement session

I’m really excited to be photographing Ashley and John’s wedding in February. We met up several weeks ago for their engagement session and got a bit of the session in before it got rainy. So we rescheduled for a few weeks later and come the day of the session and it was really yucky weather again— so we are going to finish off their engagement session just after the new year. Until then here are a few images from the Ashley & John engagement session part 1. :-)

We shot out at this tiny little church in Crystal Springs. John’s parents’ wedding is the last on record to take place there.

I love how John makes Ashley laugh.
