It had been awhile since I had shot any maternity, and really enjoyed this session. Seeing that my own baby belly is growing by the day it was fun chatting all things baby and pregnancy as we shot. I can’t wait to meet little man after his arrival in a few weeks.

This is my favorite. Bing and Max have been Courtney and Brett’s ‘babies’ for years. Here is the first official portrait of all their children. :-)

Though there was the threat of rain the day turned out beautifully. I have really enjoyed getting to know Anne and her mom over the past few months and was excited to finally meet Will, the lucky groom. Anne found me through one of her college friends, Austyn, whose wedding I shot last year, who happens to also be a dear friend of mine. It’s always fun having those kinds of connections.

The day went so smoothly and Anne goes on record as being the most laid back bride I have ever worked with. She and Will are precious together. I must say that I was happily surprised at their River Hills reception when not only they broke out in a choreographed swing number for their first dance but all of their family and friends were tearing up the dance floor all night. I think I saw more dips and pretzels at Anne and Will’s reception than every other wedding reception this year combined. It was really fun to watch.

Anne and Will, thanks so much for having me be a part of your day! I hope you are getting settled in Charleston and loving married life!

It was so fun to see the two of them together– to see John’s love for his bride in his eyes. He was totally attentive to her, even down to the details of her dress being nicely arranged as we were out taking pictures. Which I must add that they were both such troopers to agree to go outside for a bit on a scorching MS afternoon– I think the results were worth it. :-)

After a beautiful ceremony at Lakeshore Church in Byram we headed to the Colonial Country Club in Jackson for the reception.

Anna and John– thanks so much for having me take part in your day. It was truly beautiful! I hope you are having a blast in the British Virgin Islands! If the weather is beautiful there right now please bring it back with you.  (It’s thundering and dark outside as I type this.) :-)

Meredith and Travis’ Natchez wedding at Dunleith was absolutely gorgeous! It was almost fairytale-like. Travis is a Marine so he was married in his dress blues and a bunch of his friends are also Marines so lots of guys in uniform. Meredith was stunning, the ceremony was on the front lawn of Dunleith and there was a horse and carriage. The recipe for beautiful pictures if I do say so myself. :-) Not only that, but Travis’ dad officiated the ceremony which was both touching and personal.

Much thanks to Aaron Phillips for shooting with me as well as driving us back to Jackson after the wedding. I think that is the latest I have stayed up in years. :-)

The celebration was held at the home of some of Randi’s family’s friends. The ceremony was under an enormous oak tree in the front yard and the reception on the back lawn. The light was really fabulous. Even as I was prepping the images for this blog post I realized how few I was converting to B&W compared to usual because the light and colors were so pretty I just had to leave them in color.

One thing that was particularly sweet about this wedding celebration, something Randi commented on several times herself, was that all the details from flowers to food and the cakes was a result of the labor of love from family friends and church members who came around Randi, Keith and their families to put together the celebration. It was a beautiful display of community.

Randi, when you are with Keith it is the happiest I have ever seen you, which makes me smile.  I wish the two of you a lifetime of happiness and laughter– the latter something neither of you are short on. :-) Thanks for having me be a part of your day!!

Not that it would be at all odd for me to be having a conversation about that, but Meg and Nathan just celebrated their 7 year wedding anniversary. Anyway, in the course of our conversation I found out that their wedding photography was less than great and she never got any photographs that she loved of her in her dress. I found out that not only does she still have her dress, but 7 years and two kids later she can still fit into it. **please, no one get angry and start throwing things at your computer** :-)

I told her that if she could convince Nathan, that it would be really fun to go out and do a shoot. So, she got Nathan to agree and a couple of weeks ago we went out and had a really fun session. I was pretty convinced by the time it was over that Meg has done some modeling some past life. :-)

The main purpose of their session was some great photographs of the two of them together but also to document this particularly special time in their lives– a few weeks prior to their first child being born! They are so sweet together and this baby is so blessed to have such an amazing mom and dad!
