I LOVE MY NEW CAMERA!

Earlier this week I received an email I had been waiting for– the shipment notice that my camera had shipped. The UPS tracking said it would be delivered on Friday sometime between 9AM and 7PM. If that isn’t a long window of time!

Well, after waiting all day long finally, a few minutes before 7PM, there was a knock on my front door and sure enough it was the UPS man. I wanted to tell him that I had been waiting on him all day and what took him so long, but I refrained.

I finally bought a Canon 5D and a 50mm f/1.2L lens. I rented a 5D camera body a few weeks ago for a wedding and loved it! The color quality straight from the camera is really good, but of course just about anything is an upgrade for me from my Rebel XT. But really this is a fabulous camera. It has a full frame sensor which means a 50mm lens really is a 50mm on this camera because there is no crop factor like on my Rebel. The f/1.2L lens is amazing! It creates gorgeous bokeh– that’s the buttery out of focus background that really makes your subject pop out.

I have been shooting random things all weekend. Below are a few photos I have taken with the new camera and lens. I will get to try it out for an official photo shoot later this week.

A self portrait for my Facebook avatar.

Story time with Daddy.

You can’t see it from this picture but Emma was playing in a suitcase.

Christine - Hi, Erin. Great pictures. It is so fun to be able to see how y'all are doing. We should try to get together over Christmas...
Maggie has some tissue paper puffs over her crib, too (I am guessing that is what you have over Emma's crib). Enjoy your new camera!November 3, 2008 - 4:54 pm
