A couple of weeks ago I received an email from a local wedding consultant who had seen an ad of mine in Portico jackson, our local lifestyle magazine, and wanted to see about meeting up because she wanted to have another photographer to recommend to her clients. Well, this morning I had the privilege of meeting Deborah Simmons who owns Signature Occasions in Ridgeland.
CONNECTING
We both hit it off right away and an hour quickly went by as we chatted about the wedding industry, local wedding trends and she shared an “oh no!” wedding moment that she had experienced. Anyone who has been in the wedding industry long enough has had one of those moments I’m sure. I haven’t been around long enough to have one, but I’m sure my time will come. I will say that Deborah is quite the problem solver because she remedied the “oh no!” moment and pulled everything off without a hitch.
I really enjoyed getting to know Deborah a bit and look forward to working with her in the future. If you are a bride and need a wedding consultant/coordinator/planner give her a call!
After meeting with Deborah I went over to meet with a friend from college who has started TK Su, a bridal clothing line. Samantha Woo designs beautiful wedding gowns at very affordable prices. She really has beautiful work and I enjoyed catching up with her a bit. I found out that she is working on an MFA in fashion design–way to go Sam! Sam is very talented and a lot of fun. So, if you are a bride and still need that perfect dress give Sam a call and I know she will be happy to work with you.
All of that rambling to say– I am thankful for the opportunity to make connections with others in the wedding industry. It is encouraging to feel like I’m making progress in establishing my business and have others that appreciate my work. God is good!
